Tuesday, October 14 is the final day to register to vote in New Jersey ahead of the November 2025 General Election.

Here is a step‑by‑step guide to making sure you’re ready.

How to Register or Confirm Your Registration

Visit the New Jersey Division of Elections or your county’s voter registration page to check your status.

If not yet registered, complete a voter registration form and submit to your municipal clerk.

Voting by Mail

Apply as early as possible. Many counties begin mailing applications weeks before the deadline.

Once you receive your mail ballot:
  1. Fill it out carefully, following all instructions.
  2. Sign the affidavit or envelope as required.
  3. Return by mail (must be postmarked by Election Day) or deliver to a secure drop box or your county’s Board of Elections office by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

If you prefer, you may hand-deliver your ballot rather than rely on the postal service.

Early In‑Person Voting

New Jersey offers a multi-day early in-person voting period, during which voters may go to designated sites and cast ballots using voting machines.

The general election period began on Saturday, October 25, and runs through Sunday, November 2

Voting Hours:
Monday–Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
