GoNetspeed Begins Fiber Construction in Rahway, Part of $43 Million Regional Buildout
GoNetspeed has started fiber construction in Rahway, part of a $43 million buildout reaching Rahway, Clark, Linden, and Woodbridge by this winter.

GoNetspeed has started construction on its fiber internet network in Rahway, the company announced Tuesday, the first visible step in a $43 million buildout that will eventually reach more than 34,000 homes and businesses in Rahway, Clark, Linden, and Woodbridge.
The Central Jerseyan reported in June that Woodbridge and Rahway had each approved agreements allowing GoNetspeed to install fiber infrastructure in their public streets. Woodbridge’s local law passed in May, and Rahway’s City Council approved its own agreement the following month. Tuesday’s announcement marks the point where that approval turns into physical construction.
GoNetspeed expects to connect its first Rahway customers this winter, with construction spreading to Clark, Linden, and Woodbridge in the coming weeks. Residents can sign up for construction updates or pre-order service at gonetspeed.com/nj/rahway.
“With construction now underway in the Rahway area, we’re excited to begin bringing our fiber network to these communities,” David Allen, the company’s senior vice president of network operations, said in a statement. “Rahway, Clark, Linden, and Woodbridge deserve internet infrastructure built for the future.”

The $43 million investment is part of a larger $110 million push GoNetspeed announced last year to expand its fiber network across Middlesex and Atlantic counties. The company previously confirmed construction was underway in South River and East Brunswick, with first customers expected there by fall 2026. Tuesday’s announcement also named Parlin and Old Bridge as recent additions to GoNetspeed’s New Jersey expansion.
GoNetspeed’s agreements in Rahway and Woodbridge cover internet service only, not cable television or phone service. The arrangement lets the company install infrastructure without entering the exclusive franchise system that has long given cable providers like Comcast and Optimum control over local streets and utility poles.
Optimum has also been expanding in the region. In December 2025, the company announced a $40 million fiber network expansion into Woodbridge, Clark, and Linden, with service also planned for Rahway and Roselle, putting it on track to reach nearly the same communities GoNetspeed is now targeting.
None of this means an immediate change for most residents. Fiber networks are built block by block, and the earliest Rahway customers won’t be online until this winter. Residents can track availability at gonetspeed.com.
